ABOUT REVELSTOKE GUIDES

Detail-oriented backcountry skiing trips

We’ve skied around the world and, quite simply, Revelstoke backcountry is the best. Be it the climate-resilient latitude, the ocean’s worth of local peaks, the immense variety of terrain, or the epic amounts of snow that fall, there is nowhere more diverse and dependable. That’s why we choose to live and play here, and that’s how we know the ins and outs.

Ski touring trips are not like other vacations—perfect moments are elusive in the mountains. That’s why you come to us. Sure, our trips capitalize on the best ski terrain in the best ski-touring zone on the planet, but it’s our creativity and adaptability that makes us different. We put together custom tours that flow with the conditions and terrain, prioritizing solitude and wildness.

Our small, guide-owned-and-operated company focuses exclusively on ski touring, because we find it more rewarding. Nothing makes us happier than watching you bag the best run of your life—all that much better because you earned it.

ABOUT YOU

Looking for something different for your annual backcountry trip?

You love being in the backcountry, but you don’t have the time or resources to put together a trip that’s sure to deliver the kind of memories you want to make.

You prioritize being in wild places, with good people, and great snow over counting vertical, or getting bragging rights for the gnarliest line.

You’re a strong advanced or expert skier who loves the feeling of working for it almost as much as you love riding great powder. You prefer to travel with a small group of friends over a large group of strangers.

Our resources and partners.

First and foremost: unmatched terrain knowledge. We also have a private backcountry hut and dedicated touring tenure, professional quality two-way radios for guests, and a dialled ground-support team.

About Us

Proudly family owned & operated.

We’re Zoya and Isaac, the husband-and-wife team behind Revelstoke Guides. Our story began in a backcountry lodge kitchen in 2012, and since then, the mountains have been at the center of our lives—both personally and professionally.

Isaac is an ACMG ski guide with nearly two decades of experience in remote lodges, guiding, and operations. Zoya is an adventure photographer and filmmaker whose work has been featured by leading outdoor brands and publications. Together, we bring a blend of expertise, creativity, and a lifelong love for the backcountry to everything we do. In 2023, we took on our most exciting role yet—parenthood. Our daughter Ruby is already proving to be the real boss of the operation.

At Revelstoke Guides, we’re proud to be a family-run business rooted in the mountains, dedicated to sharing authentic backcountry experiences with our guests.

Feedback

The most unique backcountry touring hut in BC. Small groups, shorter trips and the best backcountry sauna ever. Classic Selkirk terrain. Isaac and his crew are the best.

We did a 2 day tour in Roger’s Pass and had a fantastic time. The guiding was excellent, and the communication leading up to the trip was great. We’ve already booked their hut and will be back!
— Jordan Webber
Larry Kelly was a great guide.Friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable about Rogers Pass. Snow conditions were less than ideal due to a warming event and some rain, very unusual for BC in January but we still had a great mountain experience with good weather and amazing scenery.

Great trip to Hemlock Hut. The new sauna and sleeping quarters are top-notch! Fantastic terrain, all a short walk from the hut. Our guide, Aaron Chance, made it an unreal overall experience!
— Teagan Milaney
What a trip!! I can’t wait to go back. The new hut—with a sauna, boot room, and cozy sleeping loft—is absolutely gorgeous and so comfortable. The food is outstanding, and the guiding is second to none — Isaac consistently led us to the best terrain and snow. We scored incredible conditions and had the best time.

We had the best time at Hemlock Hut with perfect conditions!!! You run a fantastic operation! From waiver signing, to heli instructions, fast turnaround at the hut exchange, great food, and super comfortable accommodations, we had an amazing experience!! The sauna at the hut is one of the best I’ve ever seen! I love that you put a window in there. Very spacious with a nice shower system!! Thank you for having us!!

A very well-organized and well-run trip! You travel by helicopter to a remote hut, then every day there are different ski/splitboard touring options for different interests and ability levels. They design the routes so that you see a variety of scenery and terrain, not just repeated laps of the same thing. The food was amazingly good, especially considering how remote and rustic the lodge was. And there’s also a wood-fired sauna, which is the perfect thing when you get home from a day of touring. Highly recommended!

We had a touring trip with Sherp. That was one of the best backcountry tours we had. !! Sherp is a great guide with tons of experience who grew up at Revelstoke and starting touring with his parents at a young age. He shared lots of practical tips with us and found some deep powder and soft pillows even that the conditions were not ideal. We had a great time and lots of memories!! Thank you !!

We had a fantastic experience at the Hemlock Hut. The accommodations were comfortable and the sauna/shower combo at the end of the day was really reviving. Our gear was able to dry out each night even though it got soaked in the storm conditions each day. The meals were delicious and filling. Our guide, Larry, communicated well with the team and put us onto some really fun ski terrain. It was a pleasure skiing with him. I feel like we barely scratched the surface of what the zone has to offer and can’t wait to come back!

ETHICs

Everyone is welcome here.

We recognize that there are barriers to enjoying the mountains, and that some of them are systemic. Race, age, gender, sexual orientation, and socio-economic status all play a role in experiencing the backcountry. If you come on one of our trips, we promise an environment where everyone feels invited, included and comfortable being themselves. And if you don’t feel ready or don’t have the resources, reach out and chat with us, we can help lay a path.

Conscious of our choices

TEN TRACKS: That’s the extent of our impact when we’ve left the places we’ve explored.

SIX GALLONS OF JET FUEL: What you burn if you choose to fly by helicopter into our remote backcountry terrain. (Roughly the size of your ski pack).

ZERO : The number of down days, wasted time, and expectations we have not exceeded.

ENVIRONMENT

Low(er) impact backcountry immersion

Mountain experiences don’t have to be excessive to be memorable. By slowing down and ascending via our own human power, we see and feel more of what the backcountry shows us.

Our aim is to refine new ways to experience the mountains and inspire others to engage a more thoughtful approach to experiential travel. While there is no way to travel without impact, we’re working toward influencing others to be mindful of their choices.

This is shared land

We operate commercially under an adventure-tourism license from the province of British Columbia, and are grateful to ski and splitboard in the unceded traditional territories of the Sinixt, Ktunaxa, Secwépemc, and Syilx First Nations.
